Hong Kong-listed Suncity Group has announced that its Hoiana integrated resort in Hoi An, central Vietnam, will welcome its first guests on June 28.
The group will show some of its first operational facilities in exclusive preview this weekend, including the property’s Hoiana Shores Golf Club or its 143 Hoiana Hotel & Suites managed by the Rosewood Hotel Group.
“With easy access from Danang International Airport and popular sites in the region, we are confident that Hoiana will flourish as an upscale lifestyle destination for both domestic and international visitors,” the official said. Hoiana’s chief executive, Steve Wolstenholme, in the statement.
However, the $4 billion integrated resort project will not hold its first phase of opening until early 2021, a delay justified by the group on the impact of the Covid-19 pandemic.
The first stage of the project includes more than 1,000 hotel rooms, a casino with 140 gaming tables and more than 300 slot machines, as well as a golf course.
Prior to this opening, Suncity will introduce two upscale hotels, KHOS Hoiana and New World Hoiana Hotel & Residences, along with other dining spaces.
Rosewood Hotel Hoi An is expected to open by the end of 2022.
The Hoiana project began construction work in 2016, with Hoi An South Development Co Ltd (HASD) – the Vietnam-based joint venture in which Suncity Group holds a 34% stake – was granted a casino operating license in May. of this year valid until 2080 .
The joint venture responsible for the project also includes Chow Tai Fook and VinaCapital Group.
