Hunky Glasgow car salesman prepares to enter Love Island villa

A Scottish car salesman has been recruited to Love Island via a dating app.

Harry Young, 24, from Glasgow, who was selected from thousands of Tinder applicants, said he was looking for love to help mend his broken heart and was not afraid to “hold on a few toes” to find it.

He said, “You have to, don’t you?” It’s part of going there.

“People will potentially be paired up, so if you want to get what you want and or have a connection with someone, you’ll have to step on your toes or ruffle a few feathers.

“I’ve been single for a year and a half and I’ve had a heartache before. Covid hit then so I haven’t had a chance to date. Over the past year it was easier to strike up a first conversation online as pubs and clubs were closed.

Harry, who works at Arnold Clark in Motherwell, added: “I’ve been a car salesman for about three years. You just talk to people, I love that.

“You joke all day with customers. As long as you can relate to a customer and laugh with them, you’ve almost sold them a car by this point.

Harry hopes to find love in the villa

“People buy from people, as long as you get that connection to the person, you’ve sold the car.”

His customers seem to agree with an online post: “I would like to mention the amazing young man who helped me find my dream car, Harry Young.

“Harry’s caring nature and wealth of automotive knowledge made this one of the easiest sales of the year! The boy deserves a raise, thank you Harry!

Another reviewer wrote: “I bought a car from Arnold Clark, Motherwell from car salesman Harry Young.

“Harry was very patient with my indecision and eventually got the car and contract I was looking for.”

The contestant, who is also a qualified football referee, said he had his eye on social media fashion blogger Kaz Kamwi from Essex, but admitted that could change once he is in the villa .

When asked what he would bring to the Love Island villa, he replied, “People say they can hear me before they can see me. I’m that kind of person, whether I’m at a party or at work, I’m there to laugh and joke around.

“My mom would say I’m a nice and caring person and my brother would say I’m stupid and loud!” I think they would both say I’m confident and a people person.
