The tour is in support of the new album
Earlier this month, Jessie Reyez announced her second album, Yessie, arriving September 16 via FMLY/Island Records. In support, Reyez announced The Yessie Tour, a 29-date fall tour across North America, produced by Live Nation.
Tickets will go on sale to the general public beginning Friday, September 2 at 10 a.m. local time through Ticketmaster.
In anticipation of its first upcoming release in the nearly two years since its critically acclaimed debut Before love comes to kill us landed, Reyez announced the new album in a big way with the emblazoned breakup ballad, “Mutual Friend,” once again proving she’s an unstoppable force. Reyez created the track live on Jimmy Kimmel Live!, which will be rebroadcast on Tuesday August 30, dressed in a transparent and velvet catsuit, backed by a piano and a 12-piece string section, giving an emotional and evocative performance that will leave anyone in doubt speechless. On the record, Reyez clears the air of an ex-lover and releases any lingering emotion she carries while declaring her independence – shown as scenes of beautiful rage, dying flowers symbolic of the relationship and fluid dancing in the music video directed by Peter Huang.
After releasing two critically acclaimed EPs, Reyez released Before love comes to kill us in March 2020. Against all odds, the album made the Top 5 on Billboard’s R&B Albums chart, amassed over 1.2 billion global streams, and won Top Female Debut Album and Top R&B Album of 2020 – cementing Reyez as a global phenomenon.
Earlier this summer, Reyez shared her debut preview track “Fraud,” which has 5.6 million streams to date. Earlier this week, the Canadian singer extended her global publishing deal with BMG, which includes Ouisia.
