The Kuwait Oil Company (KOC) is expected to award the main construction contract for its $200 million water facility upgrade at South Tank Farm (STF), Mina Al-Ahmadi by the first quarter of 2023.
“The tender for the Engineering, Procurement and Construction (EPC) contract was published on April 24, 2022. The deadline for submission of tenders has been extended twice and is currently October 4, 2022 The contract is expected to be awarded in early January 2023,” a source with knowledge of the project details told Zawya Projects.
The scope of work for the project includes the study, design, detailed engineering, carrying out various studies, procurement and supply of all materials, construction, testing, pre-commissioning and commissioning of water facilities in the Southern Tank Farm (STF) and monitoring pumping station near Mina Al-Ahmadi comprising the construction of a brackish water tank, associated piping, construction of a substation, associated electrical and instrumentation works, including the supply of the remote control of the Crude Oil Control Center (COCC) and all associated civil works, according to the rendering documents.
The project is expected to be completed by the first quarter of 2025, the source said, adding that its project cost estimate is $200 million.
