Scottsdale, Ariz. – May is ‘Player Development Month’ at Troon Affiliated Facilities and Troon Golf Academies around the world. Throughout the month, Clubs and Courses increase golf instruction and instruction opportunities for all levels of players, including hosting golf clinics, creating virtual/social educational content, hosting an exciting Player Development Month putting challenge and more. 2022 marks the 10e year Troon celebrated May as Player Development Month to introduce newbies to the game in a fun and educational setting, while creating opportunities for existing players to improve.

Golf clinics vary by facility and range from free to $50 for adults and free for juniors 17 and under. Instructional videos and a full list of May’s clinics and player development activities are available at

As part of Troon Player Development Month and in an effort to encourage more putting practice, the Troon Putting Challenge will give participants the opportunity to pit their putting skills against participants from around the world. The Troon Putting Challenge features 10 total putts (three 3-foot putts, two 6-foot putts, two 10-foot putts, two 15-foot putts, and one 30-foot putt) and is scored 10 points for a hole, 5 dots in a 3 foot circle and 1 dot in a 6 foot circle. The participant who completes the challenge (while tagging @Troon) with the most putting points throughout May will receive a $250 gift card from Callaway.
