President Solih concludes four-island tour of Bodu Thiladhunmathi

President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih has concluded his tour of the four islands of Bodu Thiladhunmathi atoll.

The president concluded the three-day official visit on Wednesday.

During the tour, the President visited Naivaadhoo and Finey Islands in Haa Dhaal Atoll and Utheemu and Dhidhdhoo Islands in Haa Alif Atoll.

Highlights of the president’s trip include the first couple taking part in festivities to celebrate Maldives’ National Day.

In this capacity, First Lady Fazna Ahmed joined President Solih on Utheemu Island, also attended the flag hoisting ceremony to mark the National Day.

In his address at the official ceremony held to mark the National Day, President Solih noted that ensuring more practical livelihoods and a “Jazeera” lifestyle for all communities across the country, without discrimination or party taken, is the best way to honor the nationality of the country.

The people of Utheemu held a traditional banquet in honor of the President, First Lady and other dignitaries.

The visit also saw the President attend the official launch of Zone 1 of the Raajje Transport Link (RTL) ferry service, where he said the restoration of the rich and self-sufficient autonomy of the islands is being reintroduced with the launch of the RTL service. . .

As part of the visit, President Solih also inaugurated some of the infrastructure development projects that had been completed in the Bodu Thiladhunmathi region, including the installation of water networks and sewage systems.

President Solih also met with members of Island Councils and Women’s Development Committee (WDC) in the respective islands and visited government offices and inquired about services and their needs.

A delegation of ministers and senior government officials accompanied the president on the tour.
