Island tour

Swerve City / Curlys Jewels North Island Tour with Special Guests – Anthology Lounge, Auckland

SWERVE CITY and CURLYS JEWELS are joining forces for a headlining tour of the North Island this winter, with help from some of New Zealand’s top indie rock bands.

After playing two shows in their hometown in the last 6 months, SWERVE CITY are moving to a bigger venue in Auckland (Anthology K RD) and taking their captivating and energetic show on the road.

The new single “Moving Pictures” explores the inner world filtered by the effect of anxiety and depression, where negative thought patterns feel like endless labyrinths from which there is no escape. Introspective lyrics emerge from an explosion of wall sound, as SWERVE CITY continues to unveil and develop its contribution to the New Zealand rock scene.

CURLYS JEWELS are a rock band from Wellington NZ. Their sound is grungy yet powerfully emotive, pinned with soaring vocals, dark guitar undertones and a punchy rhythm section. Charismatic, colorful and instantly likeable singer Jel Pollock draws listeners in with her delightfully unique stage presence and sensational vocal range. Aaron Ludlow (guitar), Andy van der Heyden (bass), and Corey Bell (drums) provide the energetic groundwork complimenting Jel, with all members lighting up the stage. They have a large and fiercely loyal fanbase supporting them across New Zealand and beyond.

The band have released a number of records over the years with 3 singles and 2 EPs charting in New Zealand’s Official Top 40. Their singles have also been played on mainstream and independent rock stations in New Zealand. The last 3 singles from Curlys Jewels were recorded at Roundhead Studios with legendary producer Greg Haver (Manic Street Preachers) and mixed by Clint Murphy (Devilskin)

Special guests CROOKED ROYALS step in at the last minute to replace Animalhead, who had to pull out due to illness. CROOKED ROYALS are an incredible Metalcore band with an international pedigree, performing a special acoustic set.
