While their famous dad has been on our TV screens for decades, Richard isn’t sure his daughters would want to follow in his footsteps in any way, even when it comes to the biggest reality show on TV. the box.

Speaking to The Sun Online and other outlets to promote the latest special for The Grand Tour, A Scandi Flick, Richard said: “I can’t stop my girls from doing whatever they want to do, they are 21 and 19 years old and are terrifying.

“If they want to do something, they will, but I don’t imagine they would, to be honest.”

When asked if they would ever do Love Island, he added: “I think they were asked but I doubt it.

“It’s up to them, but I’m not going to try to stop them.”

If any of his daughters were to participate, she would follow in the footsteps of other Islanders who are the offspring of famous parents, including Dani Dyer and, most recently, Michael Owen’s daughter, Gemma Owen.

Richard has no interest in doing any sort of reality TV himself, saying, “I don’t think I would want to do reality TV personally, I’m kinda boring, I don’t need to show that to the world.”

The new installment of The Grand Tour is far from boring, with Richard, Jeremy Clarkson and James May traveling to a remote region of Norway to drive rally cars in extreme winter conditions.

And for once Richard isn’t the one who ends up crashing, as that dubious honor goes to James, 59, who ends up in hospital after crashing his car into a wall at the end of a tunnel .

Richard said of the show: “We’re in real danger, I’ve learned personally and now James has learned better than most people that just because you’re doing it for TV doesn’t mean things can’t go wrong. They do.

“I ended up in the hospital with things broken including my brain because they do and there’s nothing you can do, there’s no magic wand. There’s no there is no protective TV bubble.

“Accidents can happen, circumstances can change, things can go wrong and break and they do, we are really very brave!
