Schools, colleges, businesses, farmers, community groups and families are encouraged to take part in an island-wide land art competition ahead of September’s Tour of Britain race arrival on Isle of Wight.
The tradition of creating masterpieces of land art along the race route has long been the practice of the Tour of Britain, as well as other cycling races around the world.
With more than half of the island listed as an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, as well as its status as a UNESCO Biosphere Reserve, the island offers something to scream and show off to the world.
With that in mind, islanders are invited to take inspiration from what’s on the doorstep and come together to create a special, historic masterpiece to help celebrate the prestigious race ahead on the island. Isle of Wight. The more creative, spectacular and durable they are, the better; create your masterpiece with reuse, re-use and recycling in mind.
There are 7 categories to choose from and a winner will be selected in each category by a local jury.
All winning entries will receive a £50 Wight gift card which can be redeemed at registered businesses on the island, both in-store and online.
