Umphrey’s McGee Adds West Coast and Southeast Dates to Fall Tour

Along with their annual Red Rocks run, summer festival appearances and a headlining tour with The Disco Biscuits, everyone’s favorite eclectic rockers McGee of Umphrey extend their summer/fall tour through October with a slew of newly announced dates. In September, the group will hit proven favorites in San Diego, LA and Oakland before heading east through the mountains to Reno, Salt Lake City and Bozeman. After a brief hiatus, UM will return to the stage in Richmond, Virginia, before heading south to North Carolina, Georgia and Alabama. A full list of dates is below and ticket links for each show can be found at

This announcement follows the release of Umphrey’s McGee’s new single, “So Much”, from their forthcoming album Asking For A Friend, a collection that legendary music journalist and author David Fricke calls “the best and most emotionally direct album Umphrey’s McGee has ever made.”So Much” is a sonic dreamscape steeped in guitar and keyboard that never loses its momentum due to the band’s incredible arranging skills. I know it. There’s so much to do,” sings guitarist Brendan Bayliss. Fans can check out “So Much” now at this link and pre-order the vinyl or pre-record ask a friend before its release on July 1.

UM’s next album ask a friend comes with a behind-the-scenes podcast from Osiris Media called Talking Circles. With episodes leading up to the album’s release and spanning throughout the summer, Talking Circles will tell the story of the writing and recording of this all-new set of songs. Three episodes are currently live, including the “So Much” backstory, here.
